Happy 7 Months Carys & Happy Halloween!

Carys is 7 months old... yay! I'm sure I say this every month, but I can't believe it! And I know every parent says this, but time really does go by sooo fast. It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny newborn wanting to be in my arms all of the time; now she is growing more and more independent everyday wanting to explore her surroundings.

She weighs 15lbs and is a little over 25inches
Carys continues to be such a happy baby. People always comment to us about how good she is and we tell them that she is like this all time! She is so wonderful and so much fun to be around... Chris and I are always smiling and laughing at her. She really makes life more enjoyable... I can't imagine life w/o her.
She takes 2 to 3 naps a day, and although she still doesn't sleep through the night, she has been sleeping in her crib for the past month, so that is awesome! And she goes down for bed w/o a fight... makes bedtime quick and easy for mom and dad!
Unlike last month, I have no complaints this month. Everything has been smooth sailing as Carys and I are more in sync. And I stopped stressing over things that I cannot control. Things are pretty much great these days  :)

As you can see from the pictures above, Carys started sitting up (unassisted). At her doctors appointment last week I was telling him about how she still isn't sitting up (he wasn't concerned at all and said she'll do it when she's ready). Well the very next day, of course, she started sitting up :)

this exersaucer keeps her entertained for awhile

Carys still loves Sophie the Giraffe... probably even more so now b/c she is teething for real now, one of her bottom teeth has broken through her gums

She is so smart... she knows exactly how to get out of her play yard when I leave open a little gap. I took this picture of her trying to escape.

Go Redskins!

Happy Halloween!
Carys was a giraffe for Halloween b/c this is her favorite animal (not that she can tell us this, obviously, but for whatever reason she has lots of giraffe toys and blankets with giraffes on them so we decided, for her, that its her favorite animal)

Happy 7 Months Carys Willow! We love you so much!

when mom's away...

baby will play!
Chris' parents came over to visit this past Saturday which was perfect for me b/c I had a baby shower to go to and I didn't really want to bring Carys along (mom needs a break every once in awhile!).  While I was gone Nonna and Grandpa came over and Carys had a GREAT time with them! Chris told me Carys and Nonna played for 2 hours... which was why I was happy they were able to be here while I was gone, otherwise Carys would have been stuck watching college football all day with Dad. Ah, I love grandparents! Oh, and Aunt Beth came over too! Carys got some serious family time in on Saturday :) After I got home we took some pictures...

Look-alike Meter

Well, according to this Carys looks more like dad... I dunno about that, everyone ALWAYS says she looks more like me. What do you think?

so sleepy!

Carys was hangin out with Dad in his man cave in the basement and she must have gotten REALLY bored watching him play video games...

she fell asleep sitting up.

Cox Farms

we went to Cox Farm this weekend with the little one... they have a pretty impressive fall festival there. here are some pics from the farm

we had a hard time trying to get Carys to look at the camera

weeeee... Carys and Dad on the slide

we had a good time but next year will be even more fun when Carys can actually participate in the all of the activities they have there for kids.

the pull and scoot

Carys still rolls to get to where she needs to go but recently she has also been doing this move... the pull and scoot. she propels herself with her legs and feet and moves forward with her arms and hands.
its so much fun to watch her becoming more mobile! and now that i've got my little baby gate set up i can keep her contained, which has made life MUCH easier for me!

football sunday at our house!

lucky Carys gets to watch football with dad ALLLL day on saturday and sunday. she also gets to hear him yell at the tv when he watches the Redskins play... fun fun fun!

yeah so i went a little picture crazy... i couldn't help myself, they just looked so cute :)

play time!

someone got a new toy from grandma :)

i turned my head for a few seconds to check my email and Carys was silent... i knew something was up b/c if no one is paying attention to her she lets you know. and guess what i found her doing...

chewing on the tag on her boppy! i have to cut the tags off everything i guess... i'm actually tempted to keep it on there b/c it keeps her quiet, lol

my first attempt at baby proofing

anyone that knows me knows that i am not a very organized person. and having a baby has not helped my organizational skills, in fact i think they may be worse. i wish that i could be more organized and have everything in it's place at all times but it's just not in my nature. plus it seems like when they made this house they forgot to add storage space. there is crap all over the place that just kinda lies around b/c we have NO storage, i mean there isn't even a large closet to put things in. we are saving money to get a big bookshelf so all of the STUFF can have a home. anyway with Carys rolling around and being more mobile it's important for me to keep her contained so she doesn't get hurt... so this is my solution :)

baby jail, lol! of course she HATES being in there by herself so mom has to get in there with her... ugh, nothing can be as simple as it looks. hopefully when she can sit up and actually play with her toys she will like it better.

here is the view from inside... she loves watching Sage (our cat) and i love it when Sage is around b/c it makes Carys' tears dry right up when she can look at the kitty cat.
