Happy 10 Months Carys!

Carys is 10 months! yay for double digits!

she weighs 17lbs, i'm not sure about her length but will find in 2 weeks at her next appt.
last month she was 25 1/4 inches... she hadn't grown any taller since her 7 month Drs appointment. she was under height for 9 months, but the Dr wasn't worried so I'm not going to worry. she is a shorty!

Carys is really growing up, and its happening too fast! I look at her and wonder what happened to my little newborn baby.  She is becoming a little lady and I can't believe she is already 10 months!

she babbles and it seems as though she is trying to tell us something really meaningful, and I swear she has said "cat" a couple of times. she claps when she is excited, and waves hi and bye.

this is the only picture i could get of her pointing, but she has started pointing at things now

she loves making us laugh... when she is at home she really is such a comedian. my dad told me she is the funniest person he has ever met :) she literally makes us laugh all day long! her smile and laughter is contagious, i love it

i can't wait until it gets warm out so we can go outside and play. at home Carys is secluded to her gated off play area b/c she gets into everything if we just let her roam around. which is fine sometimes, but you have to keep an eye on her at all times or else you'll be pulling cat food or a shoe out of her mouth.

she loves playing with us but now she is pretty good at keeping herself entertained as well

she still only has two teeth... i haven't been able to feel any more coming in but it seems like she is teething again so we will probably see some new teeth very soon

She is such a smart, happy, beautiful baby girl! We love watching her grow and are so proud of her when she learns something new. She is really coming into her own and its amazing watching her become a little person.

Happy 10 Months Carys!

Bed Head

I think Carys will have beautiful hair when she gets older, but right now her hair is a little crazy (as you probably have noticed from her pictures). Its very long on the sides, kind of like a clown...

as it gets longer, it is harder to keep tamed. my poor baby has bed head 24/7. it was extra crazy this morning.

yes this baby's parents DO brush her hair... it just doesn't help much ;)

Splish Splash!

Chris snapped some quick pictures while I was giving Carys a bath. She has graduated to the big tub and she loves it!
(taken with an iphone so the quality isn't great)

Finger Foods

sorry i've been neglecting my blog lately! sometimes i get into a funk and don't know what to post or what to write about... other times i feel like i have so much to share. anyway, i realized that i've only made a few posts this month, and now the month is almost over! time goes by so fast when you have a little one! so yesterday i took some pictures of Carys eating lunch...

around a month and a half ago i SLOWLY started introducing Carys to finger foods. i emphasize slowly b/c i was absolutely terrified of her choking. but i knew she was ready to try finger foods b/c she had her pincer grasp down and she was grabbing the spoon every time i tried to feed her purees.
well now she's a pro at eating her finger foods, and she loves picking up her food herself and gobbling it up!
i never knew how well babies could chew food up with just their gums.
she is such a comedian. she is always laughing and smiling, or doing something silly to make us laugh... even during her meals

Pickle Lover

I hope this doesn't make me a bad parent but I let Carys enjoy my pickle for a few minutes and she loved it!

Happy 9 Months Carys!

Carys turned 9 months on New Years Eve!

She weighs 16lbs 3ounces... I know, she is teeny tiny! Last month she never made it to 16lbs...she hovered around 15lbs 10ounces. Sometimes I wish she would just go through a big growth spurt and put some chub on... but she is just a petite baby. She is a good eater, she just doesn't put on the weight. When I tell people her age they always say "wow, she's really small!" which can be hard for me sometimes. I don't really know why it bothers me, b/c its true... she is small. But she's happy and healthy and hitting all of her milestones, so that is the most important thing. Babies come in all sizes and Carys is just a little peanut.

I think that this is such a great age b/c her personality is really starting to blossom and she is becoming more vocal. She interacts with us more which makes play time so much more fun. She's turning into a little person!

she started crawling about 3 weeks ago, no more pull and scoot. i remember when she first started rolling around everywhere and i thought it was hard to keep up with her then... haha! well now she really is getting into anything and everything she can. she does NOT like to sit still, she's on the go all the time. oh, what will i do when she starts walking?!

well, she still isn't sleeping through the night completely, but it is getting better... i think, i don't know... i don't want to jinx it! we have good nights and bad nights, but i feel like we have more good nights than bad ones. but the bad nights are so tiring and frustrating :(  it would be great if we could have all good nights. soon, i hope!

her most favorite thing to do is to pull up on whatever she can. she loves walking around the couch...getting down and then getting back up again. its what she does all day long!

she is so silly! she'll laugh when we laugh and make silly noises with us. oh and she loves to wave her arms and bounce when she hears music.
she can get really loud... screaming is fun i guess

and she'll let us know when she's not amused!

Happy 9 Months Carys!! We love our CareBear!
