Carys is 7 months old... yay! I'm sure I say this every month, but I can't believe it! And I know every parent says this, but time really does go by sooo fast. It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny newborn wanting to be in my arms all of the time; now she is growing more and more independent everyday wanting to explore her surroundings.
She weighs 15lbs and is a little over 25inches
Carys continues to be such a happy baby. People always comment to us about how good she is and we tell them that she is like this all time! She is so wonderful and so much fun to be around... Chris and I are always smiling and laughing at her. She really makes life more enjoyable... I can't imagine life w/o her.
She takes 2 to 3 naps a day, and although she still doesn't sleep through the night, she has been sleeping in her crib for the past month, so that is awesome! And she goes down for bed w/o a fight... makes bedtime quick and easy for mom and dad!
Unlike last month, I have no complaints this month. Everything has been smooth sailing as Carys and I are more in sync. And I stopped stressing over things that I cannot control. Things are pretty much great these days :)
As you can see from the pictures above, Carys started sitting up (unassisted). At her doctors appointment last week I was telling him about how she still isn't sitting up (he wasn't concerned at all and said she'll do it when she's ready). Well the very next day, of course, she started sitting up :)
this exersaucer keeps her entertained for awhile
Carys still loves Sophie the Giraffe... probably even more so now b/c she is teething for real now, one of her bottom teeth has broken through her gums
She is so smart... she knows exactly how to get out of her play yard when I leave open a little gap. I took this picture of her trying to escape.
Go Redskins!
Happy Halloween!
Carys was a giraffe for Halloween b/c this is her favorite animal (not that she can tell us this, obviously, but for whatever reason she has lots of giraffe toys and blankets with giraffes on them so we decided, for her, that its her favorite animal)
Happy 7 Months Carys Willow! We love you so much!
Happy 7 months Carys!! Tasha, so beautifully written. Carys is such a sweet baby and joy. I love spending time with her. I can't believe time has gone by so quickly also. I still remember you lovingly holding Carys in your arms when she was first born.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful mom and I am very proud of you and Chris. Love you all!
So freaking cute! i love the giraffe costume. you guys look like great parents!
ReplyDeleteShe has to be the cutest giraffe ever! What a great idea! AJ was a monkey his first Halloween for the same reasons--we thought it was his favorite animal :).
ReplyDeleteYou are making progress with her in her own space AND going down without a fight. AJ was 14 months before he slept through the night and my mistake was nursing him to sleep. I knew I would never wean if I never broke that habit. Looking back at how frustrated and sleepy I was all of the time, I know for #2 that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel!
Happy 7 months! Yay! Isn't it wild how fast this first year is going?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a great Halloween! Cary's is so cute in her costume and cheerleader outfit!
